Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto, the former minister of agriculture, officially handed over control of the sector to Mavis Hawa Koomson, the acting minister.

On January 6, Dr. Afriyie Akoto submitted his resignation in order to pursue his political aspirations of serving as the 2024 general election’s flagbearer for the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP). At 73 years old, he is the senior citizen among the prospective presidential candidates.

After accepting his resignation, President Nana Akufo-Addo gave Ms. Koomson instructions to take over the ministry and assume supervisory duties through Eugene Arhin, Director of Communications at the Presidency.

During a ceremony on Tuesday, Dr. Akoto gave Madam Koomson to the Ministry’s board of directors.

He expressed his best wishes for Ms. Koomson in her new role and suggested that they continue their productive cooperation in order to further organizational objectives.

Hawa Koomson, the minister of fisheries and aquaculture, will continue in that position until the president finds a permanent successor.

  1. I am so happy to read this. This is the type of manual that needs to be given and not the accidental misinformation that’s at the other blogs. Appreciate your sharing this greatest doc.
