Social media: A force for good
Social media has come to stay and it is a great force for making a lasting impact, both in business and in casual spheres of life. Equipped with interactive and simple-to-use features, social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and so on are very useful tools in the business world. Commuting to an office or shop to conduct business has become much of a chore due to our busy lifestyles. Social media has, thus, greatly transformed the business landscape due to the incredible benefits it brings to the field, helping businesses reach millions of customers worldwide.

Social Networking Sites and Business
Taking a look at its cost-effectiveness when it comes to advertising, and greater access to clients as compared to magazines, newspapers, radio, and TV, social networking sites like Facebook, Snapchat and Instagram have indeed revolutionised the business world and almost made physical offices redundant. It is not surprising how there is a rise in the demand for social media marketers and managers to handle businesses online these days. With a touch of graphic designing, mixed with some creativity and consistency, social networking sites become forces to reckon with in conducting business.

In our time, these sites are for more than just establishing friendships; they’re about leveraging social media strengths to make more money. But why not? Research shows that there are over five billion internet users now, with over 3 billion of them using social media; and those who understand how to leverage social networking sites to drive traffic to their company sites become successful.

Social Media Plugs
Coupled with these magnificent statistics, social media presents a platform where people can be gainfully employed. A case in point is the lockdown necessitated by the Covid-19 pandemic and how social media became the saviour of businesses worldwide. The term ‘plug’ became known far and wide as social media business owners began identifying themselves by the products they sold such as ‘sneaker plug’, ‘jeans plug’, and so on.

Social media is a force of good and even though it has its bad sides, its benefits in terms of business cannot be written off.
