President Akufo-Addo has changed his government in response to public appeals that have been going on for months.
A month ago, former trade minister Alan Kyerematen and former minister of agriculture Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto announced their resignations in order to concentrate on their respective political campaigns.
The President informed the Speaker of Parliament in writing of the latest changes to the administration on February 7, as required under the 1992 Constitution.
While some ministers were moved to other ministries, other people were appointed.

1) K.T. Hammond, a member of parliament for Adansi Asokwa, has been named the upcoming minister of trade and industry.
2) Brian Acheampong, a member of parliament for Abetifi, has been named the next minister of food and agriculture.
3) Mohammed Amin Adam, a member of parliament for Karaga who served as the deputy minister of the Energy Ministry, has been given a new position. At the Finance Ministry, he has been appointed Minister of State. He will take over for Charles Adu Boahen.
4) Stephen Asamoah Boateng has been named the Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs Minister-designate.
5) Herbert Krapah, a deputy minister at the Trade Ministry, has been appointed deputy minister-designate at the Energy Ministry. Mohammed Amin Adam is replaced by him.
6) Herbert Krapah has been replaced as the deputy minister-designate for trade and industry by Dr. Stephen Amoah.
7) Osei Bonsu Amoah, a member of parliament representing Akuapem South, has been named a minister of state in the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development.
