His Best Screen Time
In a July 2021 interview with Rev. Erskine of YFM, Mr. Blankson identified his time on the set of “Checkmate” as his favourite on-screen experience.
He claimed that the wonderful experience he had on-site and on set was made possible by Shirley Frimpong-Manso, the film’s director.
He explained that “At that time I was used to doing things my way.
“I was used to suggesting moves, suggesting delivery, changing dialogue when I thought it was right but when I got onto that set, I really got challenged.
“Here, you could find that the director knew what she was about and I realised that those were better than I suggested”.
Ekow saw that the effort put into the film had really paid off because many had praised him for his performance in it.
