Assin Central’s NPP representative Kennedy Agyapong joined the conversation at the National Cathedral. The MP is in favour of using public funds—in defiance of the President’s promise to God—to build the Cathedral.

He claims that this Cathedral is a good idea that must be completed despite the current state of the economy.

The politician requested public funding from Ghanaians to build the cathedral, saying it would be a significant investment for the country once it is complete.

The MP advised Ghanaians to disregard the cost in his bid to secure the NPP nomination and run for president in 2024.

The Cathedral, according to Hon. Kennedy Agyapong, will increase tourism and revenue. Because of insufficient government funding, millions of Ghanaian cedis have been wasted.

The National Cathedral will get 80 million Ghanaian cedis from the government in the 2023 budget.

Despite opposition to the cathedral grant, the majority of Parliament backs its President.
