According to The Shade Room, Chance the Rapper and VicMensa have teamed up with United Airlines to make flight deals to Ghana more accessible for their recently announced “Black Star Line Festival” (TSR).

The iconic Black Star Square will host the West African event on January 6, 2023. It seeks to establish ties between Black artists from around the world and Africa. A day of music, art, cuisine, and education are promised at the music festival. In addition to VIC MENSA and Chance the Rapper, other well-known performers on the lineup include T-Pain, Sarkodie, M.anifest, Asakaa Boys, and more.

TSR reports that from December 15, 2022, to January 17, 2023, United will give a 5–10% discount off its published airfares to and from Accra, Ghana. Depending on the market and booking class, flight discounts to Ghana will vary.

Flights leaving from North America, Europe, India, the Middle East, Central America, South America, Asia (other than Japan), and the South Pacific are eligible for this promotion.

Chance The Rapper and Mensa announced the festival last summer after travelling to Ghana for several weeks with eight students from Chicago. They took them there so they might discover their origins firsthand. The two of them had been there once before this year. The goal of the music and arts festival is to foster ties between Black artists from around the world and Africa

Marcus Garvey’s famous Black Star Line speech served as the foundation for the festival’s moniker. The line provides access to chances for international travel and shipping for the Caribbean and Africa. Nearly 40 years later, the Ghanaian government released a fleet bearing Garvey’s name as a tribute

Ghanaian Roots

The rapper reportedly visited Ghana for the first time in 2022. Vic Mensa, King Promise, and M.anifest were present with him, whose true name is Chancelor Johnathan Bennett.

According to My Joy Online, President Akufo-Addo of Ghana met with Bennett and the other singers to explore how they could assist close the gap between American and Ghanaian artists.

In addition to the encounter, Chance seemed to be having a ball in Ghana, the country of his family’s origin. He went to the church that his ancestors had erected. The rapper allegedly admitted that his family had long since constructed a school in Jamestown.

  1. The following time I read a weblog, I hope that it doesnt disappoint me as much as this one. I imply, I know it was my choice to read, however I actually thought youd have one thing interesting to say. All I hear is a bunch of whining about one thing that you can fix should you werent too busy in search of attention.
