The former president of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama, has started a two-day campaign tour of the Upper West Region.

The region is one of two regions he has yet to visit before the presidential and parliamentary elections on May 13, 2023.

As a member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), which has a strong presence in the area, Mr. Mahama plans to meet with branch and constituency executives in all eleven constituencies to rally support and motivation for the upcoming 2024 campaign.

This visit is part of the ‘Building the Ghana we want Together’ campaign, which has already travelled over 12,000 kilometres and interacted with more than 337,000 delegates in 257 constituencies across 14 regions, as reported by the #JMCampaignTracker.

Mr. Mahama will continue his 16-region campaign tour from the Upper West Region to the Savanna Region.

“Building the Ghana We Want Together”

Mahama’s official campaign, which is dubbed “Building the Ghana we want together” was scheduled to be launched on Thursday, 2nd March a the University of Health and Allied Sciences in the Volta Region.

“Fellow countrymen and women, I will on Thursday, March 02, 2023, launch my bid to lead the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to the 2024 elections at the University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS) in Sokode near Ho,” Mahama wrote on his Facebook page on Tuesday, 28th February 2023.

“I invite you to either join me in the Cedi Auditorium at UHAS or watch a live stream of the launch on my Facebook page or YouTube channel from 9.00 am,” Mahama added.
