In a statement, Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari has condemned the horrific killings of worshippers in Ondo State.
The statement was made following the shooting at St. Francis Catholic Church on Sunday, which claimed the lives of over a dozen worshipers, including children.
According to Reuters, a doctor at an Owo hospital stated that about 50 bodies had been brought to the Federal Medical Centre and St Louis Catholic Hospital in Owo.
The incident has not been claimed by any specific group, and although much of Nigeria has struggled with security in recent times, Ondo is usually regarded as one of the most stable states in the country.
