The event, dubbed “Happiness 3.0,” hosted by The Art of Living, will take place today, August 17, 2022 (from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.), at the Accra International Conference Center.
The Art of Living is a global, nonreligious, nonprofit organization that helps people improve their mental health and reduce stress.
The “Art of Living” has positively impacted approximately 500 million individuals in 156 countries since its start in 1981, which is a real monument to the strength of its cause. The organization operates a very effective peace campaign that recognizes Africa Day and is engaged in 23 African nations.
One of the greatest volunteer-based organizations in the world, with over 30,000 teachers and over a million volunteers, was created as a result of the founder, Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, who ignited an irresistible wave of service and volunteering.
Gurudev is a leading proponent of peace who has conducted successful peace talks in conflict-ridden nations like Colombia, Sri Lanka, the Ivory Coast, Iraq, India, and Venezuela. His work illuminates ideas like interfaith cooperation, environmental sustainability, and grassroots movements through the lens of other cultures and religions.
He passionately thinks that every human being has the right to a society free from violence, a body free from sickness, breath free from quivering, a mind free from stress, an intellect free from inhibitions, memories free of trauma, and a soul free from grief. His vision places a strong focus on a “One-World Family,” transcending the boundaries of race, nation, and religion.
The Happiness Programme is one of The Art of Living’s signature courses. The program, developed by Yale University and Harvard Medical School, provides one with evidence-based tools and procedures to help them change difficult emotions and stressful or anxious mental states to ones that are easy, peaceful, and clear.
Since it began offering the course in Ghana more than 15 years ago, the organization has educated thousands of people in the Greater Accra and Ashanti Regions, and both students and teachers at Academic City University College and Blue Crest College have praised it.
Gurudev’s Visit to Ghana
Global Peace Ambassador, Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar arrived in Ghana earlier this week on his first visit to the country as part of a 12-day tour of Africa. In a Facebook post yesterday, he described how he was warmly welcomed by the President of the Republic, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to initiate The Art of Living workshops ranging from ayurveda, agriculture, and youth skills training to prison programmes with the aim of uplifting wellness in the country.
