The finance minister, Ken Ofori-Atta, appears in front of the legislature today to respond to 16 inquiries that have been put out to his ministry by various members of the house.
After being called to appear before the House on June 16, he is now expected to respond to inquiries regarding the government’s handling of COVID-19-related monies.
The Majority Leader, Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, informed the MPs that the Finance Minister had asked for an extension of time prior to his appearance since he could not be available on the scheduled day.
The minority caucus in the House, however, expressed concern over this, believing that the minister was evading responsibility.
