Akrobeto has revealed that he has been advised to never feature in the same film with Agya Koo.

Legendary Kumawood actor and UTV presenter, Akwasi Boadi, popular known as Akrobeto, has shed some light on circumstances under which he had been advised not to feature in films that included Agya Koo (known in real life as Kofi Adu).

The host of the ‘Real News’ show confirmed the identity of the adviser as a top Kumawood movie producer.

Akrobeto added that the film director claimed Agya Koo would outshine him if they appeared in the same film.

He identified the producer who gave him the advice as Kwasi Nyamekye, also known as Miracle. The actor claims he recognised that the advice had value.

“I was advised against acting with Agya Koo because of his influence and might in the movie industry. I would not hide the name of the advisor. He is our very own Miracle, Kwasi Nyamekye. He acknowledged my talent and told me that I would not be recognised for my talent if I continued acting with Agya Koo because he would always outshine me”, he said.

Speaking in an exclusive interview on Peace FM, Akrobeto said, “I saw wisdom in his counsel and decided to obey. So, he made sure we were not in the same movie till movie lovers began to accept me”.

Akrobeto, however, acknowledged Agya Koo’s significant contribution to his career. As a result, he described how often he expresses his gratitude to Agya Koo in private for his contribution to his achievement.

He said, “no one can undermine the might and contribution of Agya Koo to the development of the Ghana Movie industry, and I always praise him for paving way for us. When I bought my first car, a Kia Sportage, I drove to his house to show him my new car and express my gratitude to him. Same happened when I bought my Venza”

When asked why he is only now speaking about the issue, Akrobeto claimed that he had stayed quiet because he was concerned about how Ghanaian bloggers would represent and misinterpret his statements.

“I have been silent on this issue and I have tried to dodge journalists and interviews because of what journalists can do to your words,” he said.
