Following a thrilling 3-3 draw at home against Inter Milan, Robert Lewandowski netted an equalizer with seconds remaining to retain Barcelona in the Champions League.

Barcelona had taken the lead through Ousmane Dembele in the 40th minute, but Nicolo Barella equalized the score 10 minutes later.

Barcelona appeared to have found a way back into the game when Inter took the lead shortly after the hour mark through Lautaro Martinez before Lewandowski scored his first goal of the night.

When Robin Gosens’ goal gave the Italian team the lead again in the 89th minute, they found themselves down once again unexpectedly. However, Lewandowski’s late header ensured Barcelona’s elimination from the competition was far from them.

In Group C, Bayern Munich defeated Viktoria Plzen 4-2 thanks to two goals from Leon Goretzka.

Sadio Mane and Thomas Muller were among those to add their names to the scoresheet for the Bavarian team before the 35-minute mark, and despite two goals from the home team in the second half, the outcome was not in doubt.

Liverpool turned it on in the second half to smash Rangers 7-1, and Mohamed Salah recorded the fastest-ever Champions League hat-trick.

Before Roberto Firmino scored twice and the outcome was never in question, Scott Arfield had given the home team the lead. Harvey Elliott and Darwin Nunez both found the back of the net for the Rangers.

Napoli, another team in Liverpool’s group, qualified for the round of 16 with a 4-2 victory over Ajax.

Heung-Min Son’s two goals helped Tottenham cling on for a 3-2 victory at home against Eintracht Frankfurt with 10 men to take the lead in Group D of the Champions League.

After taking the lead, Frankfurt lost it before Son’s first-half double and a Harry Kane penalty kept them in first place.

In Tottenham’s group’s other match, Marseille defeated Sporting Lisbon 2-0.

Club Bruges Make History

After a scoreless draw against Atletico Madrid in Group B, Club Bruges advanced to the next round of the Champions League for the first time.

The Spanish team will compete for second place alongside Porto and Bayer Leverkusen, but Porto advanced with a 3-0 victory over the German team.
