Francis Kofi Okesu, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Krachi East in the Oti Region, was discovered dead in a Kumasi hotel room.
On Sunday, police discovered his dead lying naked in bed with his left arm hanging by the bed.
Health care specialists carefully examined the body and discovered no signs of assault, although they did discover sperm cells on his thigh.
The spermatozoa droplets, in the opinion of the authorities, point to a potential sexual act prior to his demise.
According to investigations by Luv News, the deceased and his driver, Sylvester Attah, had checked into the hotel late on Friday, September 2.
However, the driver departed to check into a new hotel.
Since checking into the hotel, Mr. Kofi Okesu had not been seen and attempts to contact him have been ineffective.
Investigations revealed that Mr. Attah was unable to reach him on Sunday, September 4, the day of his intended return to Dambai.
The manager of the aforementioned hotel in Kumasi filed a formal complaint with the police.
The Police then entered his room and discovered Mr. Okesu’s deceased body.
The police went to the scene of the incident to start their investigation into what might have caused his death.
Police sources claim that although they searched the room, they had not yet discovered anything illegal.
Simon Osei Mensah, the Ashanti Regional Minister, Abraham Antwi, the municipal chief executive of Oforikrom, and other security personnel have all been present.
For preservation and an autopsy, the body has been placed in the mortuary at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.
Frequent Robberies in Krachi East
In August, Krachi East Municipality residents in KpareKpare and its surroundings made an appeal for the establishment of a police post to maintain local security.
The call was made in response to what the locals claimed was an increase in robberies in the neighbourhood.
They also think that the building of a police station would lessen the frequency of their attacks and guarantee their protection.
The presence of security personnel in the neighbourhood, according to Mr. Isaac Kaliwa, an assemblyman from the region, would enable quick reactions to criminal incidents.
He said that it will stop bike and motorcycle theft in the localities.
Domestic animal and other property theft, according to Mr. Kaliwa, is also on the rise. He encouraged the Oti region’s police administration to heed their request.
Businessman Mr. Nicodemus Napari described how burglars broke into his compound house at midnight and took his brand-new “Haogin” motorcycle.
A local who works as a teacher at KpareKpare Junior High School (JHS) described how some infamous bandits broke into teachers’ bungalows at night and stole his new motorcycle.
Another victim expressed concern about his stolen motorcycle and added that all theft incidents had been reported to the Dambai Police station.
