Being pregnant comes along with changes in the body. These changes differ in each woman. Bloating, change in skin colour and cravings are just a few. In spite of that, it’s the wish of most women to still look elegant and fit during and after pregnancy.

Although it’s quite difficult since the body mostly says otherwise when it comes to active exercise, it’s not impossible. Here are some useful tips you can adopt to keep your body in shape during and after pregnancy.

Taking lots of Fluids

It is necessary when pregnant, to take in fluids. Mostly water. Staying hydrated always is key because the body needs to stay hydrated in order to function properly. Medical studies show that the regular intake of water, especially when pregnant helps build tissues and carry nutrients to the right parts of the body. It is also needed to produce extra blood and help the kidney function properly.

Take Natural Sugars

During pregnancy, some women find themselves gulping in one drink after another just to taste the sugar in their mouths. Sugar intake must be limited if you want you and your baby to stay fit. Research shows that aside from affecting the child’s verbal memory, it also increases the child’s chances of developing respiratory diseases such as asthma at an early age. So instead of the carbonated drinks and juices, go for fruits.

Watch Your Diet

We understand it’s not easy to overlook those cravings especially if you have that mindset that it’s the baby who wants it. Thus, after eating your portion, you fill up the baby’s portion too. Each food you take must contain at least one or two nutrients to help your body and the development of the child in the womb. Ensure you’re getting protein and minerals in the foods you crave.

Schedule a Routine Walk

Inasmuch as lazying around with that feels better than exercising, the little moving around really helps. Reduce the urge to sit at one place and let things get done by others. Move around the house as often as possible. You could try a 50 to 100 steps challenge daily and see how much you can cover in a day. But remember to relax when the body is screaming rest in every direction.
